Production engineering

SHL sees its production engineering as mechanical and electro-technical production.

We realised early that flexibility and quality can only be performed to full satisfaction if we have access to a very extensive depth of manufacturing. To cater for this, we produce almost all the mechanical components of the parts and assembly groups ourselves. To this end, SHL maintains a state-of-the-art machine park. Every year, we make the necessary investments to ensure that we remain at the cutting-edge of technology. State-of-the-art CNC turning and milling machines as well as 3 and 5 axle processing centres enable flexible production and a high output.

A diverse range of special machines, wire eroding machines and a number of grinding machines are available for further processing, producing the optimal surface finish and complex contours.

Our extensive depth of production is complemented by our dedicated department for the design and development of gripper technology. We regard the workpiece and tool handling before, during and after the grinding, polishing and burring process as a integral part of the entire process.All the peripheral operating steps exercise considerable influence on the duration and quality of the surface properties of the product and thus its profitability.

The machine programming station with a number of CAM workstations for the off-line programming of the CNC processing programme is located in immediate proximity to the CNC production.

Working on this basis, our project team (responsible for every project stage) is able to achieve the best intermediate results in every process step. Working with a high degree of flexibility, they use the best solutions to realize the best result. This enables us to realize a multi-faceted and varying production programme which represents the ideal job-shop organization in workshop production for small-scale solutions.
